This one-of-a-kind home sits on a peaceful canal in Manasquan, New Jersey, just a few blocks from the beach. Most luxury residences in the neighborhood are in flood hazard areas. Flooding is a risk that homeowners are willing to take in order to experience the joy of living by the Jersey Shore.
Safety without sacrifice.
To mitigate the flood zone, CMM developed an intricate design bringing the foundation and mechanical systems above the flood line. The garage is also built to self-ventilate and allow moisture out of the space. Even on pilings, the home maintains a charming and sophisticated aesthetic.
A little bit of pinstripe love.
In New Jersey, we take our sports allegiances seriously. The homeowner asked us to incorporate deep blue into the interior design as a reference to the New York Yankees. We took it a fun step further with line variations and patterns inspired by the club’s famous pinstripes.
Living in bliss, hosting in style.
The kitchen is anchored by a large island where guests first gather before eventually meandering to their own personal space. The second floor features two master bedrooms with beautiful views, while the third floor boasts four built-in beds, custom-cut ceiling shiplap panels, and exposed beams that combine to create the sense of sleeping in a vintage, luxury cruise cabin.
